Description: The Otepää Nature Park (224.3 km2) has been established to protect the landscape in the more varied middle part of the Otepää Upland. The number of lakes in the Otepää Upland is 130, 65 of them are located in the reserve. It is worth ascending the Otepää Castle Hill, where the ruins of the oldest brick castle in Estonia are located and which opens a beautiful view over the surroundings. The natural attractions deserving more attention include Lake Pühajärv and Pühajärve Park.

Several hiking trails have been prepared:
The Pühajärve Hiking Trail (12 km; 3-6 hours) offers a discovery journey in the near surroundings of one of the most exceptional lakes in Estonia.
The Murrumetsa Hiking Trail (3.5 km; ca. 1-1.5 hours) runs through Pühajärve Park to the Murrumetsa grove and back.
The Pühajärve Sensation Trail (1.5 km; ca. 1 hour) on the southern shore of Lake Pühajärv.
Kekkonen’s Trail (14 km) provides an opportunity for hiking on forest paths in the surroundings of Kääriku and visit the Harimäe observation tower (the height being 28 m) next to the trail. Kekkonen’s Trail is aimed at hikers in summer and skiers in winter. In summer, it is possible to cycle on the trail as well.
