Description: Matsalu National Park is situated in western part of Estonia. Reserve was founded in 1957 mainly to protect nesting, moulting and migratory birds. Also the landscapes are unique and deserve to be protected - floodplains, reedbed, coastal meadows, wooded meadows and islets. On the bay shore and coastal areas six observation towers with different heights and three lower platforms have been erected to facilitate better observation of the fauna and landscapes of Matsalu National Park.
